United Peace International (UPI) is a nonprofit organization with offices in Tokyo and San Jose, California, dedicated to advancing world peace. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Development Director for individuals with extensive fundraising experience to support our mission of advancing world peace. UPI is the only organization developing a unique approach to achieving world peace, which we are applying to United Nations reform efforts. Work Days: Monday to Friday
Work Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Lunch Break: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

Note: This is a remote position; however, we require employees to visit the office once a month for in-person meetings and collaboration. We encourage applications from candidates who can maintain regular communication while working remotely.

Job Description Position Overview
The Development Director will play a critical role in securing the funding necessary to support UPI’s mission. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies and requires a candidate with extensive fundraising experience, strategic thinking, and a strong passion for promoting world peace. The position reports directly to the Managing Director of the U.S. office and is based in San Jose, with remote work possible.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement multi-year fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Create and manage annual fundraising plans and targets
• Cultivate and secure funding from diverse sources, including foundations, major donors, corporate sponsors, grants, and crowdfunding campaigns

Qualifications
• 10+ years of proven fundraising experience with measurable results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally
• Strong understanding of international affairs and global issues
Compensation Salario anual $100,000 - $250,000
