The Heart of Calligraphy

We introduce our students' works and share their thoughts on the seasons through calligraphy.

In spring, the Bay Area is beautiful, starting with white almond blossoms, followed by many colorful flowers and greenery. The "Sakura Matsuri" (cherry blossom festival) is held in each area to introduce "Japan" to the world.

Masako (General, 4 months experience): Her gentle brush strokes show her sincerity. She has done a good job after only four months of practice.

Reiko(中一,Three years of experience)》I can feel her spirit to move forward and her careful writing is very impressive.

Classes

Target ： Kindergarten to adult Beginners can learn from the basics.
Monthly Fee ： $80 for adults ～ $60 for students ～ （ Beginners ）
Time ： Once a week （ 4 times a month ）
Lesson Time ： 1 hour for students, 1 hour for adults Small group （ Up to 4 students ） Class.

Encouraging Calligraphy

Learning calligraphy is a way to learn about Japanese culture.
Of course, you will not only learn the correct stroke order, but you will also develop an interest in writing and learn to write with care.
Also, calligraphy is a great way for children to learn how to concentrate and think.

For about $30 for children and $40 for adults, you can get a good quality brush and a set of tools.
Sumi ink and paper are sold at a discount.

Calligraphy has a "Kanji Club" and a Kanji is the foundation of calligraphy. Kanji is the foundation of calligraphy.
"Kana" is a variant of "Kanji" and "Kana" is a variant of "Kanji" (cursive). So it would be a shortcut to improve your "Kana" skills if you start with the basics of Kanji.
In the Kana section, there are different ways to enjoy writing waka, haiku, poetry, and other favorite sentences in both the harmonic and modern poetry styles.
